Been meaning to eat at this place for years! I visited thinking I'd be off-peak lunch hours but was surprised & happy to see it was a full house in their dining room. There was 1 party in front of me and it looked like they were waiting for a good while. I originally wanted to dine in to get the full experience but hunger came over me. I decided on ordering my food to go. I settled with a 2 choice combo plate with the fried bangus (milk fish) and lechon kawali (fried pork belly). I was given an estimated wait time for my order. After a couple min and feeling like it was ready, I headed to the counter and asked for a status update of my food. I found it had been ready and resting on a pick-up shelf near by. There were pretty busy so I could understand why they didn't call out my name (which was asked for at checkout) when my order was ready. I sat at an outside table of an establishment near by and enjoyed what I saw when I first opened my to-go box. What greeted me were fried deliciousness of meats. The bangus and lechon kawali instantly pleased me with their golden brown color. I was also happy to be served condiments with my order. It was greatly needed to combat the greasiness of the fried food. I also had java rice with my meats which was pretty okay. I think I prefer garlic rice instead because of the bigger impact of flavor and fragrance. I easily finished all my food and left no traces behind in the to-go box. I will definitely come back to order other items on the menu!

Its a very small establishment but the food is delicious, they are always busy, so you know food is always hot and they treat you like family. I really enjoyed eating here for their combo plate. I ordered the milk fish and lechon with java rice. It's so good. The lechon is super rich but fried to crispy perfection. The skin is always my favorite. The milk fish is fried and they dont over fry it where its just all crispy and you dont have any flesh of the fish left. They fry it enough so you can eat the head and fins cause its fry crispy but there's still flakey fish flesh. My friend ordered the grilled pork chop with gravy. It was also super delicious. The gravy is has a bit of peanut or some kind of nut and looks like mushroom gravy but totally delicious and savory. The gravy is slathered on the pork on a sizzling cast iron plate. I highly recommend coming here if you need a bit of home cooking that's delicious and expands your world of filipino food

Small parking lot but plenty of street parking. Make sure you come BEFORE they open. The lines get long quick. Lots of regulars and families. It's a small joint but service is quick. So many great options to choose from. Get the combo if you want a little bit of everything. Pork sinigang was the perfect amount of sour. Lechon is always a must. The grilled chicken was good but I would try a different option next time. I wish they had arroz caldo!! Definitely come with a big group so your hungry eyes can enjoy a bit of everything.

We're never in the Freemont/Union city area since we live in Pacifica but we were craving Filipino food after our 4D ultrasound. We had very low expectations for Filipino cuisine after our experience in Daly City/Peninsula restaurants. The ones we've tried were either overpriced or just plain awful or the combination of both. LOW AND BEHOLD my wife and I found this GEM in Union city. Portions are crazy big. Lechon Kawali is 10x better than Max's restaurant, BBQ chicken was fine, my wife's pork chop with the gravy reminded her of the Philippines, java rice was really good and the calamari was okay. Everything was just spot on for what we paid. This place blows out EVERY Filipino spot we've tried since moving to the Bay Area. We definitely don't mind driving 50mins-1hr20 JUST to eat here again. Definitely will come back to get the NY steak, lliempo and sago gulaman since it was sold out.

The food was good, my Filipino friend said it was authentic! Super clean even though it was a small place! The food came super fast (within 5 mins)! The service was great for such a small place as they brought out everything we asked for immediately! Seems like a very cozy family restaurant!

Yum! A serving of a grilled plate at Toppings Too is so comforting, and that java rice was nice and aromatic! The sizzling plate is perfect for a cold day. I personally felt the chicken could've been more flavorful since all I could really taste was the char, but the gravy made up for that a bit. The calamari was also crispy yet tender, but be careful with the vinegar because if you dunk the pieces in there like I did, you'll just get a mouthful of vinegar fumes lmao. Overall, a nice cozy place to get Filipino comfort food. Owner was super friendly and accommodating, since we had umbrellas and he wanted to get a bucket for us to store them in.

Make sure you call ahead; long wait time when they get busy. They get a lot of orders for pick up. We usually get the grilled combo plates which come with your choice(s) from their grilled specialties and java rice. We've tried their lechon kawali, grilled liempo, crispy pata, crispy fried chicken, grilled pork chop, fried calamari, egg roll, etc. We ordered too much food for 2 people but intended to save myself from having to cook tomorrow. The jumbo crispy pata was perfectly cooked and we only really ate the part with the knuckles. Tried the fried calamari for the first time and absolutely killed it. They use rings of tender calamari steaks, lightly breaded to make outside crispy. Will definitely get that again. Also had the lechon kawali which is our go-to entree but it was a bit overcooked and dry today. One of our few choices for dinner since it's on the way home.
